Moon's 'Toons #1
Hello all! Those of you who know me pre-Annals will probably be familiar with the fact that I like a cartoon or two. I'd even go so far as to say that once or twice I've had dalliances with a comic. So I suppose you could say it was only a matter of time, given the space, before one of two of the denizens of TAoOM got the ol' cartoon strip treatment. Here's the first set.

Weapon'd
With a root of
a pine, a bough and a boulder,
Made I this
cudgel asleep 'pon my shoulder.
Each hungry
dawning I solemnly greet it.
Sacred thing,
Weapon'd, so I will not eat it.
Come closer
and sniff at the truth on my breath.
Life is a
scree of pain, hunger and death.
But no matter
how desperate and starving my need,
I must not eat
Weapon'd, that is the Creed.
I take to the
cliff-side, slavering drool.
The hunger is
gnawing and stabbing and cruel.
I'll wallop
the wolves 'til they're tatter'd and dead.
I'll sniff out
a goat-herd and knock in his head.
My succulent
cudgel, it teases and tempts me,
Crooning “No.
I am Weapon'd. My status exempts me.”
Then I'm
climbing the tor that rears up in the heath,
And I'm
breaking the rocks with my great aching teeth.
Life is too
long and my belly is cramping.
I'm whining
and weeping and raging and stamping.
My belly is
cramping and life is too long,
But I will not
eat Weapon'd. That would be wrong.

Birfdy Boy
Last thursday I celebrated the commencement of my 45th revolution of our star, and I must say I'm feeling a rather chipper 44 :)
It was also when TAoOM received its first fan art, in the form of an Old Moon birthday card...
...shown here with a splendid party hat on, and here sans hat, but no less superb...
Both were from the skilled pencils of this fine young fellow...
...who answers to the name of Benjamin Coleman.
Old Moon finds all this extremely pleasing, and would love to receive more!
(some coloured-in TAoOM finger puppets perhaps?)
A merry Winter to you all x

The Night Before Samhain: Jackanorified
We've been busy bees here at Old Moon Tower.
As a follow-up to our Hallowe'en Special, here's our first venture into animation.
As a kid, one of my favourite programmes was Jackanory,
a long-running BBC childrens' television programme that had an actor in an armchair reading a story to me, the avid viewer. I loved it :)
I hope we've captured a little of the magic that entranced me as a child as I sat glued to that wonderful programme, as we here present to you The Night Before Samhain: Jackanorified.
Hope you enjoy it (and if you do, please share it!).
Any comments and feedback will be much appreciated.
Many thanks to Tanya for the movie-making.
