Ymir

Ymir

'Twixt emptiness and endless cosmic fire,
'Tween Chaos and the Yawning Gap of ice,
Rent I was, to make the world entire.
Blood and meat and bone my sacrifice.

From Muspellheim came lashing tongues of burning.
From Niflheim came crackling claws of frost.
Charred and frozen, torn within my turning.
Scatter'd through the Void, bereft and lost.

Then gather'd up in gravity's embrace,
My tide of blood, my flesh, my shatter'd bone.
Swept up from the nothingness of space,
To mould the Mother Sun, and Queen Fireya's Throne.
